- Fall & Spring Brush Pickup
Fall & Spring Brush Pickup
We want to help our residents keep their yards clean and healthy during seasons when leaves, brush, and fallen branches become common.
The Brush Pickup Program takes place once in the spring and once in the fall. Each Ward will have brush picked up at the curb during the scheduled pick-up week. Dates will be published in the paper or the City newsletter. You can also check our calendar for the newest information.
The Process
Each Ward will have branches picked up at the curb during the scheduled pick-up, generally once in the spring and again in the fall. Dates will be published in the newspaper, in the City newsletter, and shared through our online alert system (LINK).
Residents are asked to place branches at the curb no later than the first day of pick-up. Branches are to be placed in front of homes by the side of the street, not in alleys, and they must be accessible and away from fences, overhanging limbs and away from utility structures.
City crews will pass by each street once during the designated time, and generally begin in Ward 1 on the Monday of the schedule pick up week and then proceed to each of the following wards.
During storms or other emergencies, as determined by the Street Superintendent or his designee, the Street Department Staff will schedule additional pick-ups as determined by the weather.
How to Place Branches For Pickup
To ensure your branches are picked up, take the following steps to set them out correctly:
- Place branches at the curb no later than 7 am the first day of pick-up.
- Place branches in front of your house by the side of the street.
- Do not place in alleys.
- Branches must be accessible and away from fences, overhanging limbs, and utility structures.
- If you are using disposable containers, they must weigh less than 70 pounds.
Storm & Emergency Pickup
During storms or other emergencies, the Street Department crew will schedule additional pickups as needed. These will be announced in local newspapers and through our online alert system.
