The Litchfield Airport Authority and the Route 66 Jets RC Club are sponsoring a Remote Control (RC) Jets Rally.
This is a special year in that the RC Jet Rally will be comprised of two parts.
September 7-8, 2010 will be a competition to select the US RC Jet Team which will compete in the 2011 World Jet Masters competition in Dayton, Ohio. The best RC jest pilots in the United States will be coming to Litchfield Airport to be in this competition.
September 9-12, 2010 will be the regular "open flying" event sponsored by the Route 66 RC Jets Club.
Over 40 contestants and 100 aircraft from all over the United States will be attending this event. These aircraft are true scale models with real miniature jet engines. The average price for these models is between $10,000 and $40,000.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this fun, family centered event.Food concessions are available. Admission fee for anyone 16 years old and older. Children under 15 are free. Please bring you own lawn chairs for seating and you won't want to forget your cameras.
Access to the event will be along US Route 66 South, the "Mother Road". Turn right at "Airport Trail" which is the road immediately south of the airport entrance. Look for signs.
