On April 8, 2006 Litchfield Fire Department responded to the Industrial Park for a report of the smell of natural gas. Upon arrival the fire department used monitoring equipment to determine the cause of the smell. During the investigation the fire department personnel spoke with Dohrn Trucking Company, they stated that they had ruptured a can of Mercaptan - used as the odorant in natural gas. The fire department remained on the scene until a Hazardous Materials Waste hauling company arrived on the scene.
