Shoal Creek Conservation Area at Lake Lou Yaeger
Walk the trails at a nature lover's paradise of state wide significance consisting of 266 acres of park like woodlands, prairie barrens, deep ravines, ridges, and cliffs. Dedicated by the City of Litchfield Council in 1990 to preserve the existing remnants of oak-hickory forest, barrens, and prairie. The local Rotary club and the Shoal Creek Volunteers, Inc. help in maintaining and preserving this area by monitoring plants and animals. Nature trail tours, wild flower walks, and workshops are available to any group who is interested in learning more about the Conservation Area.
