| Litchfield is both progressive and professional in its city government and services. The City of Litchfield operates under a Council/City Administrator form of government. The City Administrator provides professional administration under the guidance of the Mayor and eight Council persons whom are elected for a four year term. City Council acts as the policy making body for the City. The City has several boards and commissions, allowing citizen representation in local government. Regular City Council meetings are held the first Thursday following the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm (unless otherwise posted)in Corwin Hall, 120 East Ryder Street. The City's operating budget FY 2010 is $15,566,440. The City has approximately 137 full time and part time employees. The Mayor's Office and City Administrator's hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday, (217) 324-5253. |
