Minutes of the Regular Meeting
July 25, 2006 Mayor Thomas F. Jones called the Special Meeting to order July 25, 2006 at 5:30 P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. City Clerk Marilyn Hartke read the Notice of Special Meeting. Present on Roll Call were Greg Beiermann, Sylvester Jarman, Pat Timmons, Harold Ellinger Jr., William Cornman, David Rovey, William Dees and Gene Cailey. Absent: None.
A motion was made by Dees seconded by Cornman to approve contracting the plan review services for the Brown Shoe Factory Apartment Development with the International Code Council at a cost not to exceed $7,000.00. On roll call voting aye were Timmons, Cornman, Dees and Cailey. Naye: Beiermann, Jarman, Ellinger and Rovey. Mayor Jones voted aye. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dees seconded by Cailey to retain Crawford, Murphy & Tilly to verify Lake Yaeger surface supply capacity and to consult on utility and other issues for Economic Development potential contingent upon cost figures. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Cornman seconded by Ellinger to table until the August 1, 2006 meeting the adjustment of water rates for the City’s Water Districts at the recommendation of all committees. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Cailey seconded by Beiermann to authorize a letter from the Mayor to the IEPA stating that the City will cover any project cost not covered through the IEPA Loan. On roll call voting aye were Jarman, Timmons, Ellinger, Cornman, Rovey, Dees, Cailey and Beiermann. Naye: None. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Timmons seconded by Rovey to allow the City to talk with the Rocky Hollow Water District and get additional information on what they are requesting and more details on their water district. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dees seconded by Cornman to eliminate the Part-time Secretary position and to create a Part-time Zoning Administrator position. After a discussion a motion was made by Cornman seconded by Jarman to table this request and send it back to both committees to discuss at their finance meetings and then give recommendations to Council. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Beiermann seconded by Rovey to adjourn at 6:15 P.M. Motion carried.
