Minutes of the Adjourned Meeting
February 21, 2005
Mayor John L. Dunkirk called the Adjourned Meeting to
order at 5:30 P.M. on February 21, 2005. Present on roll
call were Greg Beiermann, Fred Jones, David Schwab,
Harold Lankutis, William Cornman and Gene Cailey.
Absent: Bob Bertolis and William Dees.
City Administrator Bob Knabel discussed with the
Council the filling of the position of assistant Clerk
currently held by Darlene Kirby. The position is being
posted to the Union and if no candidates then will be
offered to the public. That person will be required to
work 60 hours per week, six days a week during the
months between March and October. The compensatory time
earned between March and October will then be taken off
between November and February.
A motion was made by Jones seconded by Lankutis to go
into Executive Session at 5:33 P.M. to discuss the
appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance or dismissal of specific employees of the
public body. On roll call voting aye were Beiermann,
Jones, Schwab, Lankutis, Cornman and Cailey. Naye: None.
Absent: Bertolis and Dees. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Jones seconded by Cailey to go
back into Regular Session at 6:11 P.M. On roll call
voting aye were Beiermann, Jones, Schwab, Lankutis,
Cornman and Cailey. Naye: None. Absent: Bertolis and
Dees. Motion carried. Dees entered the meeting.
A motion was made by Lankutis seconded by Beiermann
to authorize the Mayor to sign a settlement agreement
between the City Council, Laborers’ Union 773 and James
Barry as to his rightful placement on the seniority
list. On roll call voting aye were Jones, Schwab,
Lankutis, Cornman, Cailey, Dees and Bertolis. Naye: Naye.
Absent: Bertolis. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Beiermann seconded by Lankutis
to adjourn at 6:13 P.M. Motion carried.
