Minutes of the Adjourned Meeting
January 24, 2005

Mayor John L. Dunkirk called the Adjourned Meeting to order January 24, 2005 at 5:30 P.M. Present on roll call were Bob Bertolis, Greg Beiermann, Fred Jones, David Schwab, Harold Lankutis, William Cornman and William Dees. Absent: Gene Cailey.

City Administrator Robert Knabel updated the Council on how the insurance committee was formed and introduced the members. Cailey entered the meeting at 5:35 P.M. Ron Roach a member of the committee explained what work the committee had done and introduced William Maher with MRCT Benefits Plus. Mr. Maher outlined how the new insurance with United Health Care would work. The committee chose two plans for the employees to choose from one with no deductible similar to what we have currently plus a flexible savings account, the other one with a higher deductible and a health savings account. United Health Care has both Litchfield Hospital and Hillsboro Hospital signed on to their networks effective March 1, 2005 but the local doctors have not signed on yet. United Health Care feels that could take at least 60–90 days to get the paperwork completed. The committee does not recommend making the change until the doctors are in the network. A motion was made Jones seconded by Beiermann to approve a contract with MRCT Benefits Plus for the City’s health insurance and to extend our insurance with Health Alliance for 2 more months or until United Health Care can get contacts signed with the providers. On roll call voting aye were Bertolis, Beiermann, Jones, Schwab, Lankutis, Cornman, Cailey and Dees. Naye: None. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Cornman seconded by Lankutis to approve the second reading of Ordinance No 3093 amending Ordinance No 2831 known as the Zoning Ordinance to change the zoning classification from (S-2) Single Family Residence to (C-2) General Commercial for the real estate described as Lot 1 and 2 of Block 3 Miller’s Addition for Larry Pence. On roll call voting aye were Jones, Lankutis, Cornman, Cailey, Dees and Bertolis. Naye: Beiermann and Schwab. Motion carried.

There being no further business a motion was made by Beiermann seconded by Lankutis to adjourn at 7:10 P.M. Motion carried.
