Mayor John L. Dunkirk Jr. called the
Special Meeting to order September 23, 2002 at 6:00 P.M.
City Clerk Marilyn S Hartke read the Notice of Special
Meeting. Present on roll call were Robert Reid, Bob
Bertolis, David Schwab, Fred Jones, Wayne Bishop, Harold
Lankutis and Gene Cailey. Absent: Thomas Jones.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded
by Bishop to approve a payment of $175,249.40 to Lake
Rip-Rap Inc for work at Lake Lou Yaeger under the Clean
Lakes Program and to authorize the City Clerk to
transfer the necessary funds from Sales Tax to Lake
Operation and Waterworks Operation & Maintenance to
make the payment. On roll call voting aye were Reid,
Bertolis, Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis and Cailey.
Naye: None. Absent: T Jones. Motion carried.
A discussion was held concerning the
adoption of an Electronic Communication Policy and
Procedures. Aldermen were asked to study same and be
ready to vote on it at the October meeting.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded
by Bertolis to grant Henry, Micenheimer & Gende
permission to prepare bid documents and specifications
for a drain grate for the Encapsulation of the influent
flow splitter at the Wastewater Treatment Plant not to
exceed $5,000.00. Motion carried.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded
by Lankutis to go into Executive Session to consider the
appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance or dismissal of specific employees of the
public body. On roll call voting aye were Bertolis,
Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis, Cailey and Reid.
Naye: None. Absent: T. Jones. Motion carried.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded
by Schwab to go back into Regular Session at 6:27 P.M.
On roll call voting aye were Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop,
Lankutis, Cailey, Reid and Bertolis. Naye: None. Absent:
T. Jones. Motion carried.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded
by Bishop to allow Lee Jarman to continue to collect
comp time for time worked over a 40 hour week not to
exceed the 160 hour cap plus a 12% increase on his base
pay while serving as acting Police Chief effective June
14, 2002. On roll call voting aye were F. Jones, Bishop,
Lankutis, Cailey, Reid, Bertolis and Schwab. Naye: None.
Absent: T. Jones. Motion carried.
A motion was made by F Jones seconded by
Bishop to adjourn at 6:30 P.M. Motion carried.
