MINUTES OF
SPECIAL MEETING - MARCH 18, 2002
Mayor John L. Dunkirk Jr.
called the Special Meeting to order March 18, 2002 at
7:00 P.M.. City Clerk Marilyn Hartke read the Notice of
Special Meeting. Present on roll call were Robert Reid,
Bob Bertolis, David Schwab, Fred Jones, Wayne Bishop,
Harold Lankutis, Thomas Jones and Gene Cailey. Absent:
None
Bill Pettry a
representative from the Illinois Municipal Retirement
Fund spoke to the Council about the possibility of the
City joining IMRF.
A motion was made by F.
Jones seconded by Bertolis to approve a payment of
$4,000.00 to the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Fighters
budgeted in the 2001 - 2002 budget. On roll call voting
aye were Reid, Bertolis, Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop,
Lankutis, T Jones and Cailey. Naye: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Reid
seconded by F. Jones to accept the MARS addendum to the
2002 Housing Rehabilitation Program proposal. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by
Bertolis seconded by Schwab to approve change order #6
in the amount of $19,794.02 for work at the Wastewater
Treatment Plant by Korte Luitjohan. On roll call voting
aye were Bertolis, Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis,
T. Jones, Cailey and Reid. Naye: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by T
Jones seconded by Bishop to authorize the City Clerk to
issue a check to the Litchfield School Dist. #12 in the
amount of $6,000.00 as reimbursement from Charter
Communications. Motion carried.
A motion was made by F
Jones seconded by T. Jones to authorize the City Clerk
to secure proposals and/or bids for new computer
hardware for the City Clerk's Office. Motion carried.
A motion was made by T.
Jones seconded by F. Jones to approve the second reading
of an ordinance authorizing the execution of an
annexation agreement for the real estate known as
Professional Plaza. After a discussion both Jones
withdrew their motions.
A motion was made by Reid
seconded by Bishop to table the second reading of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of an annexation
agreement until the March 21, 2002 meeting giving our
City Attorney time to read same and give us his opinion.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by T
Jones seconded by F Jones to adjourn at 8:45 P.M. until
March 21, 2002 at 6:30 P.M. Motion carried.
