Mayor John L. Dunkirk Jr. called the Special Meeting
to order February 26, 2002 at 6:15 P.M.. City Clerk
Marilyn Hartke read the Notice of Special Meeting.
Present on roll call were Robert Reid, Bob Bertolis,
David Schwab, Fred Jones, Wayne Bishop, Harold Lankutis,
Thomas Jones and Gene Cailey. Absent: None
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded by Schwab to
authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement between the
City and the State of Illinois for the reconstruction of
State Street and Sallee Street. On roll call voting aye
were Reid, Bertolis, Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis,
T Jones and Cailey. Naye: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by F. Jones seconded by Bishop that
we authorize the purchase of 1.048 acres from the Goeke
Trust for new right of way of the State Street &
Sallee Project at a cost of $5,700.00 and the purchase
of 1,785.9 square feet of ground from the First
Presbyterian Church of Litchfield for new right of way
for the State Street & Sallee Project at a cost of
$1,550.00 and to authorize the City Clerk to issue
checks for same contingent upon the signing of the
documents by the Church and approval of the documents
from IDOT. On roll call voting aye were Bertolis,
Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis, T. Jones, Cailey and
Reid. Naye: None Motion carried.
The Aldermen discussed the following topics: Vision
Statements for the City, the creation of a Department of
Public Works and a 7-Year Equipment Replacement Program
to great lengths but there was no motion to follow.
A motion was made by Reid seconded by T Jones to
authorize the expenditure of $3,785.00 to Conner
Business Systems for pre-owned shelving. Motion carried.
Proposed Ordinance No. 2964 authorizing the sale of
personal property was read for the second reading. A
motion was made by Reid seconded by T Jones to approve
the Ordinance as read. On roll call voting aye were
Schwab, F. Jones, Bishop, Lankutis, T. Jones, Cailey,
Reid and Bertolis. Naye: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Schwab seconded by Lankutis to
go into Executive Session at 8:54 P.M. to discuss
personnel. On roll call voting aye were F. Jones,
Bishop, Lankutis, T. Jones, Cailey, Reid, Bertolis and
Schwab. Naye: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by T. Jones seconded by Lankutis to
go back into Regular Session at 9:45 P.M. On roll call
voting aye were Bishop, Lankutis, T Jones, Cailey, Reid,
Bertolis, Schwab and F. Jones. Naye: None Motion
carried.
There being no further business a motion was made by
T Jones seconded by Reid to adjourn at 9:46 P.M.. Motion
carried.
